PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Responsible for the development and delivery of the web services supporting PayPal APIs and user experiences on various channels (web, mobile, etc.), as well as integrations with partners. Work closely with product and experience and/or integration teams to understand the developer needs and deliver APIs that meet those needs. Participate in all phases of our software development lifecycle: from system analysis and design, planning, development, testing, deployment, monitoring. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Job Description:

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered as a software engineer, or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

(1) Developing software for distributed systems with high performance, scalability, and availability.
(2) Developing high performance, scalable and available web services using Java and frameworks such as Spring.
(3) Object-oriented design and design patterns, and programming skills.
(4) Web services and SOA related standards like REST/OAuth/JSON.
(5) Programming languages including Java.
(6) Test frameworks such as Junit, Mockito.

(7) Developer tools such as git, Jira, Jenkins, Postman, Splunk.

(8) Payments processing or e-commerce domains.

Additional Job Description:

PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The expected base salary for this role is $152,630 – 176,000 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The total compensation for this position includes standard company benefits and is based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills and experience.
