As a Software Development Intern, you will work on various aspects of the software development lifecycle in a highly agile environment. This role is an active participant in all phases of software development including design, development, deployment, and maintenance.
Primary Duties
- Contribute to creation and implementation of automated tests to ensure adequate coverage based on requirements.
- Contribute to software engineering best practices for design, coding standards, performance, test automation, security, delivery, maintainability, and culture.
- Contribute to the implementation, testing, delivery, and operation of EBSCO’s Platform as a service and Infrastructure as a Service.
- Work with product management and your team to analyze and decompose complex software requirements into simple user stories for planning and execution.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
- Perform minor software enhancements and defect fixes for a variety of commercial off the shelf applications.
Education and Training Preferences
- Working toward a bachelor's degree in a computer science field or related experience.
- Basic knowledge of Software Design, Algorithms, Programming, and Data Structures.
- Experience building software applications in a class, as a personal hobby, as part of an open-source project.
- of experience developing in JavaScript technologies such as Next.js, React, Redux, Node.js, and Typescript.
- Experience using RESTful Web Services, HTML/CSS, XML/JSON, HTTP, and SSL.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests.
- Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub.
