Software Development Engineering - Advisor

TITLE:                                          Software Development Engineering - Advisor

EMPLOYER:                               Fiserv Solutions, LLC

LOCATION:                                 Milwaukee, WI (and various unanticipated locations throughout the US subject to authorization from management)

DUTIES:                                      Work with engineering teams to propose features that solve recurring patterns in customer complaints. Design and implement scalable, secure, distributed, fault tolerant systems that satisfy sophisticated requirements. Support services before they go live, through activities including system design consulting, capacity planning and launch reviews. Maintain services once they are live by measuring and tracking availability, latency, and overall system health. Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms including automation and evolve systems by suggesting changes that improve reliability and velocity.

REQUIREMENTS:                     Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and 7 years in any job title involving DevOps, infrastructure support, or software engineering experience. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and 5 years in any job title involving DevOps, infrastructure support, or software engineering experience. Prior experience must include: 3 years of site reliability engineering; 3 years supporting mission critical websites; Designing, analyzing, scaling, and fixing largescale distributed systems; Coding in Java, Go, Python, or Ruby; Linux troubleshooting and securing; Working with Cloud technologies including Google Cloud Platform, virtual servers, load balancers, and HTTP Protocol; Using configuration management systems including Puppet, Chef, Terraform, or Ansible; Working with web servers including HAProxy, Nginx, or Apache; Using RDBMS systems including MySQL or Oracle; and Using observability systems including Grafana, Prometheus, or DataDog.
