About the Role:

We’re looking for a strong Software Development Engineer 2 to join our Front Office Books and Records team. You’ll bring your technical experience to design and build core functionalities to the front office team. You will be involved in all aspects of product execution from strategy and architecture to QA and release. This is a backend-heavy role that involves building scalable, fault-tolerant services in a modern microservices architecture. You’ll work closely with product, compliance, and other engineering teams to build systems that are core to our business and regulatory obligations. 

You’ll work on mission-critical services that are core to DriveWealth’s global trading platform. This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to a growing team that owns a foundational part of our financial infrastructure while building software that adheres to the highest levels of precision, compliance, and performance.

What You'll Do:

• Responsible for assisting the technical design and delivery of multiple backend services in the front office domain
• Design and implement resilient APIs and microservices using modern architectural patterns
• Develop, write, test and maintain code for new and existing applications
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and assist in bug fixes
• Assist in recommending and facilitating product maintenance as well as new features
• Collaborate cross-functionally with platform, infrastructure, product, and compliance teams
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews

What You'll Need:

• 4-6 years of experience in software development and architecture
• Experience building and consuming RESTful/gRPC APIs.
• Strong understanding of relational (PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (DynamoDB) data stores.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools, and agile development practices.
• Proficient in one programming language (especially Java or GoLang)
• Must understand how to write effective unit/integration tests
• Familiarity with cloud-native development (preferably AWS) and containerized applications (Docker, ECS/EKS).
• Experience with a 24x7, highly-available architecture
• Passionate about rigorous engineering practices and discipline: code reviews, automated testing, logging, monitoring, alerting etc.
• Strong communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of devOps and other app deployment practices
• Commitment to engineering excellence: testing, documentation, code reviews, performance optimization

Nice To Have, But Not Required:

• Experience writing shell scripts or using Python for tooling
• Proficiency with high performance java development
• Prior experience in fin-tech, trading, or high-throughput backend systems
• Exposure to FIX protocol or vendor integrations in trading systems
• Understanding of message queuing technologies like ActiveMQ and Kafka
• Familiarity with Redis or other caching mechanisms
• Interest in financial domain concepts: order types, T+1 settlement, audit trails, compliance logs
