Software Developer
Full Time (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)

The Application Developer will develop / maintain applications, APIs, interfaces and process automations to meet business needs. This is a technical position requiring being able to proficiently code in C# and JavaScript. The job requires the ability to quickly adapt and learn other programming languages as needed.
The Ideal Candidate has...
- Knowledge of standard coding conventions and object-oriented design concepts.
- Fluency with several or all of the languages we commonly use (C#, JavaScript, VBA, Python, and PowerShell)
- Experience writing SQL queries and programmatically interacting with SQL databases.
- Experience with Amazon's AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2 instances as well as serverless services such as Lambda, SNS, SQS and S3.
- Experience using data transformation tools such as DBT, Talend or Matillion.
- Knowledgeable of healthcare data exchange protocols such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and Direct Messaging.
- Significant and successful experience in designing, implementing and supporting various healthcare related solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and manage several unrelated projects at the same time.
- Experience with a web development framework (Angular, Blazor, Vue, React, MVC)
A typical day might consist of:
- Writing scripts to extract data from medical record systems. The developer will be tasked with analyzing the front and back end of the system to determine the best way to extract patient data, then writing and maintaining a program to do so. Extraction may require the ability to analyze and reverse engineer database structures that are not documented or are no longer supported.
- Converting data and documents from one format to another. For example, .tiff to .pdf
- Building REST or HL7 API endpoints and building web applications that integrate into existing internal or external REST APIs.
- Building healthcare interfaces in JavaScript using HL7, FHIR and REST API protocols.
- Automate manual tasks and process using code, screen scraping, browser automation and API interfaces.
Essential Duties*
- Participate in the development of technical road maps, designs, and testing plans for the introduction of new and existing end-user technology.
- Working with the internal or external clientele to understand project requirements and how they translate in application features.
- Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications.
- Designing and testing creative prototypes according to specifications.
- Write clean, maintainable, unit-testable code that can be worked on by other developers within deadlines.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, document, enhance and debug applications written by you and your team.
- Develop end-user documentation and process flow diagrams for applications.
- Provide technical support with installing, monitoring, and maintaining you and your teams developed software
- Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware/software configuration.
- Analyze project data to determine specifications or requirements.
- Develop performance metrics or standards related to information technology
- Identify, document, research, and resolution of application issues using GitHub.
- Use change management procedures, and code review processes.
- Ensure that any patient data interfacing into and out of clinical applications or EHRs meets HIPPA requirements and quality standards.
- Provide ongoing support during application go-lives and updates.
- Possesses ability to work in rapidly changing environment and desire to learn technologies and programming languages as needed.
- And the most important duty last, being a team player. You be able to interact with peers, and management in a constantly evolving environment.

Education and Experience:
Required
- Associates Degree in a related field or 2+ years professional experience programming
Preferred
- 2+ years in Healthcare IT preferred
