GDIT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer Expert to join our team and contribute to mission-critical projects in a classified environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of software development, including designing, developing, and maintaining complex systems for waveform message processing, reporting, and performance dashboards.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain software for waveform messaging and reporting systems.
• Design and build performance and metrics dashboards to visualize system health and key data.
• Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming and documentation.
• Work with classified information and systems in accordance with strict security protocols.
• Collaborate with a small, focused team of engineers and subject matter experts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from initial concept and design to testing and deployment.
• Contribute to code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality and documentation.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, particularly in the fields of waveform transport protocols and Agentic AI.

Required Skills:

• Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience  (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining complex, data-intensive applications.
• Expertise in waveform transport protocols.
• Experience with Agentic AI principles and applications, including the development of intelligent agents and autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with front-end technologies for dashboard development (e.g., JavaScript, React, Angular).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
• Experience in the defense or intelligence community.

The likely salary range for this position is $182,750 - $247,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
