The Hardware Provisioning organization within OCI is strategically re-architecting our provisioning layer to support exponential scale and deliver advanced capabilities for OCI GPU Servers.
We are seeking a talented Principal Software Engineer with deep experience in GPU and Networking technologies to help build the infrastructure powering tomorrow’s cloud. The Hardware Provisioning organization delivers the System Software stack that manages and provisions the Server Infrastructure in OCI.
When a customer relinquishes a server in Oracle Cloud, that server must be securely re-provisioned with trusted firmware in all hardware components – GPUs, Network, Storage, and BMC. Further, our tools are also used by our factories when manufacturing servers to ensure they are provisioned with trusted firmware.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a core member of a dynamic team that designs and delivers the system software stack underpinning OCI’s cutting-edge server infrastructure. You’ll develop secure provisioning and management solutions for OCI GPU-accelerated servers, ensuring robust performance, reliability, and security at every step from manufacturing to deployment and operations.
You will work in all phases of the software life cycle: architecting, designing, developing, testing, releasing, and supporting cloud management software that sets industry standards. Our environment spans everything from user applications and APIs to low-level hardware interfaces, and you’ll collaborate with talented experts in the industry. Your role will also include DevOps model to deliver solutions, problem-solving with internal and external partners, including hardware vendors and enterprise customers.
Our product development environment includes C/C++, Python, Linux, GPU and Networking programming.
The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and will be expected to use these skills to communicate with a geographically diverse team across many technology consumers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new Hardware Provisioning products and features that are the foundation for OCI core services with a special emphasis on GPU, Storage, and Networking products and protocols
- Analyze the architecture, design and implementation of existing products with a focus on improving scalability, performance, extensibility, and security
- Interface with Oracle's customers to understand their needs and design and deliver novel solutions to address these needs
- Debug and fix issues that are found in the OCI fleet
- Work closely with our GPU and Network vendors to drive new requirements to meet provisioning and security goals
Qualifications
Must Have:-
- BA/BS or higher degree in Computer Science or Equivalent
- 6 or more years of professional experience designing, implementing, testing, releasing, and maintaining software applications and systems in C/C++ and Python
- Experience with entire product life cycle: Implement, Support.
- Experience with Storage and Networking products/protocols and programming.
- Experience with IO device subsystem and PCIe System Architecture.
- Operating System (LINUX and/or UNIX)
- Experience with System Programming, and/or Firmware development.
Nice To Have
- Familiarity with BMC(Baseboard Management Controllers), Smart NICs, and DPUs is a plus.
- Knowledge with GPU Architecture, GPU baseboards, GPU firmware management, GPU Networking, and GPU monitoring.
- Familiarity with DMTF - PLDM/SPDM standards.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
