We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Social Searcher to assist with information to be used during jury selection in legal proceedings. As a Social Searcher, your primary responsibility is to gather and analyze information about prospective jurors to ensure fair and impartial jury selection. Your work will help attorneys and legal professionals make informed decisions during the jury selection process. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research skills, strong attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of social media platforms.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Conduct thorough background research on prospective jurors using various resources, including online databases, public records, social media platforms, and other relevant sources.
• Identify and compile pertinent information about prospective jurors, such as employment history, educational background, criminal records, financial information, affiliations, and social media activity.
• Analyze gathered information and provide accurate and concise reports on each prospective juror, highlighting relevant findings and potential biases.
• Adhere to formatting guidelines while being flexible to adapt to customized processes.
• Searches may be conducted during the weekdays as well as over weekends.

Requirements

Skills and Experience: 

• Excellent research skills, including proficiency in conducting online searches and accessing various databases and public records.
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret, winnow, and evaluate information.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in compiling research findings and generating summary reports.
• Ability to perform under pressure, with great flexibility and adaptability, to meet shifting schedules and deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Familiarity and usage (preferred) across multiple social media platforms.
• Updated on current events, social media trends, and pop culture news. 

Education and Technical Requirements: 

• Undergraduate degree preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience in legal research, jury consulting, or a related field is desirable.
• Experience with copyediting and layout formatting is desirable.
• Laptop or desktop system; phone or tablet insufficient for demands of the search process.
• Pre-existing profile for Facebook (at least 3 years old) and the capability to create other necessary social media profiles. 
• Weekday morning availability is highly desirable.

Salary Description $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
