A part-time Site Supervisor - FWISD After School Program job is available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department to oversee programs within Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD). Join our team where you can have an impact on students of all ages on your campus, where opportunities for learning go beyond the regular school day. The flexibility and creativity that you bring to the After School Program directly transfers to the teaching done during the regular school day. The ideal candidates will provide recreation and educational programs and activities; promote, coordinate, implement and evaluate inside and outside activities and events and oversee effectiveness of assigned programs. This is a grant funded position that will extend only to June 2026 unless additional grant funds are received.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years’ experience leading children’s activities for youth ages 5 – 13 in a recreational and educational environment
- A minimum of six (6) months’ supervisory experience is required
- Valid Driver's license
- Possession of or ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid, and AED certification during the first 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training and evaluation, implementation of programs, principles and practices of recordkeeping, city goals, objectives and mission,
- Skill in customer service, public speaking, delivering presentations, computers and applicable software, organization and time management, and interpersonal relations.
The Site Supervisor - FWISD After School Program job responsibilities include:
- Supervises, guides, trains, evaluates and directs team of Recreation Assistants.
- Develops and implements weekly lesson plans meeting and promoting educational, cultural, and recreational needs.
- Coordinates indoor and outdoor activities.
- Plans and implements arts and crafts activities.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization in the facilities.
- Issues and collect recreation equipment and games.
- Maintains discipline of campers and applies departmental policy consistently.
- Maintains a high level of safety indoors and outdoors.
- Gives primary attention to the children.
- Assists with lunch and snack distribution, serving and clean up, following Child Nutrition Program guidelines.
- Submits and inputs daily attendance into computer systems, incident reports, disciplinary action forms, parents and camper surveys, schedules, etc.
- Assists regular staff as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations
Working Conditions/Physical Demand:
Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.
Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
