Job Summary
This is a full-time position with BVCI slated to start on a 3-year project in Georgia. The first week of onboarding can be done from home, then report to world headquarters in Kansas City for project planning before mobilizing to site
Industrial Conventional Power - Simple Cycle/ Rotating equipment experience is strongly preferred
Union Management experience is preferred but not required
Responsible for the successful execution of the construction and start-up of the project. Provides leadership to the project staff and all organizations on site. Directs staff in the daily/weekly planning process. Functions as a representative for Black & Veatch in all interactions involving the Owner and Contract. Implements Black & Veatch standards and procedures, develops project-specific procedures allocates resources, and makes decisions in support of project strategies. This position supports a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities & Information

- Ability to manage anywhere from 100-2000 direct hire union trades men and woman
- Projects will consist mostly of heavy industrial construction. Conventional Power- Combined Cycle plant, Hydrogen plants, Refineries (Oil and Gas) Must have a strong knowledge of Conventional Generation.
- Must have a strong emphasis on safety, quality, productivity and schedule of the project
- Candidate to be able to manage up to 70 professionals which will include, CM, Supt, Coordinators, Safety, Quality, Project controls, S/U and Commissioning
- Have a thorough understanding of schedules and budgets
- Strong computer and communication skills
- Strongly adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Skills in dispute resolution.
- Knowledge of Union agreements is preferred- NCA, NMA, etc.
- Position will start in the office on estimating projects, planning the project that the candidate will be assigned and , take the project to the field on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for updating and completing the Construction Execution Plan.
- Reviews and refines the plan as the project progresses.
- Directs overall construction effort including coordination of erection activities, suppliers, direct hire craft labor, subcontractors, startup and testing activities, and the owner.
- Directs implementation of the Construction Processes and Procedures Manual (CPPM) and ensures requests for deviations are submitted when necessary.
- Manages overall construction and startup costs to meet established budgets.
- Reviews, analyzes, and reports monthly on project construction budget, schedule, and quality performance and takes appropriate action to return the project to plan.
- Directs implementation of established project controls processes and procedures including Installation Work Packaging (IWP) through the Package Manager software tool.
- Coordinates with leadership to negotiate and implement appropriate labor agreements.
- Establishes and maintains relationships and develops a high level of trust and credibility with clients, owners, alliance partners, craft labor, subcontractors, and suppliers.
