We’ve been on a three-year journey to modernize our U.S. distribution network and transform how we distribute our products. The Woolwich Distribution site is one of two new U.S. distribution hubs opened within the last year to enhance and streamline our delivery operations. We’re aiming to elevate the customer experience and generate cost savings with state-of-the-art technology and standardized processes. But none of it can happen without you – the people who power our operations and ensure that our customers receive our life-saving therapies when they need them.

Manage overall day to day facility operations at Woolwich, a new Medtronic site. Supervision of four Maintenance Technicians and one Facilities Coordinator.  Responsible for building HVAC, building environment, electrical, water, compressed air and internal equipment to the operation. Must be available by phone for emergencies.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Manages the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.
• Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
• Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department.
• Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion.
• May have responsibility for establishing and overseeing health and safety standards.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
• Management Skills: Management of Financial and Material Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Management of Personnel Resources, Collaboration and Productivity Software.
• Functional Skills: Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance, Management Software programs (CMMS), Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, Working knowledge of maintenance operations, administrative services, contract management, security, janitorial, and grounds maintenance, Effective Communication Skills.

Required Knowledge and Experience: 
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) and minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Distribution center experience 

• Demonstrated ability in managing financial and material resources, critical thinking, project management, and personnel resources. Managing large facility budget.

• Proficiency in Building Automation Systems (BAS), Computerized Maintenance Management Software programs (CMMS), HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, maintenance operations, contract management, security, janitorial & grounds maintenance.  

• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. 

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
