Position Summary
Oversees the shipping, receiving and warehouse inventory functions. Is responsible for daily activities and task in the shipping department along with making team safety the number one priority.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrange daily shipping schedule to meet due dates.
- Coordinate shipping schedules with production managers, shipping carriers, and operations.
- Ensure that our product arrives in good condition at destination.
- Coordinate team members work schedules in the department.
- Cooperate with other supervisors and team leaders to insure we maintain OV values while meeting our customer promises.
- Works under shipping and fulfillment manager to ensure direct reports and temporary service workers are properly and adequately trained to perform their essential functions in a safe, productive manner in accordance with all established safety guidelines.
- Ensure that the shipping and receiving functions are performed in an efficient manner and within the guidelines and policies established by the Company.
- Ensure inventory system is updated accurately for materials received or shipped each day.
- Ensure warehouse inventory in properly maintained and that required reports are generated and reviewed as prescribed, that data is correct and timely.
- Coach team members for performance; provide cross-training opportunities and career development opportunities to existing team members. Document and discipline performance issues with the assistance of shipping and fulfillment manager, director of ops, and human resources.
- Ensure that equipment is properly maintained; important production, business, and personnel records are preserved, and regular reports are provided to management regarding costs, operations, and morale.
- Create an uncompromising culture of ‘Safety First’ incorporating shop floor organization, housekeeping and cleanliness within Digital Department. In reference to the Orora Visual Safety Plan drive the facility’s safety policies, practices & performance and take personal accountability for making Safety the number one priority.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ Years of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse/production environment, preferably within the printing/packaging industry
- Experience managing production labor teams
- Ability to multi-task and strong time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
