Shipping/Packer - 2nd Shift

Overview

 

Selux Corporation is hiring a Packer for Shipping in their Highland, NY manufactuaring location.

This is a full time position with excellent affordable medical, dental and vision benefits, paid holidays, paid time off and 401k match.

 

Pay Rate: $17 P/H 

Responsibilities

• Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.

• Packs items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding

• Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers ensuring stability.

• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons

• Assists with loading items on to shipping truck or trailer for pick up.

Qualifications

• Seeking a candidate that is skilled in wrapping palettes, building palettes, cutting wood, and packing products. 
• Ability to use appropriate measuring tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Previous experience in shipping and packing in a manufacturing environment.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision.

Work Environment:

• Will be required to work in manufacturing & warehouse areas. Will be exposed to a noisy environment routinely.
