General Description:
The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for ensuring the accurate picking, preparation, packaging, and documentation of outgoing shipments, and the verification of accuracy of incoming shipments. This position also helps monitor the proper storage and organization of inventory.
This position requires an attention to detail and diligence in verifying part numbers and quantities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the performance of team members in the shipping and receiving department. This includes training, motivation, and ensuring the team meets performance expectations.
• Evaluate team member performance, provide feedback, and address any issues.
• Examine incoming shipment contents and compare with records to verify accuracy.
• Assist with unpacking, sorting, and inspecting incoming materials.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, storage, and shipment of goods.
• Record needed shipment information such as weight, quantities, method, and other information as required.
• Work with others to prepare larger shipments, ensuring they are securely packaged for safe transit.
• Schedule customer deliveries.
• Work with the ERP system to process pick tickets and other items.
• Prepare required shipping documentation for standard and freight shipments.
• Inspect and monitor outgoing shipments for discrepancies and accuracy.
• Maintain shipping materials and supplies.
• Follow corporate policies for maintenance of company delivery vehicle(s).
• Other responsibilities as warranted by businesses needs and leadership direction.
Qualifications:
• High School diploma required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in job functions.
• Previous shipping experience is desired.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
