Position: Shipping & Receiving Operator

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Hours: 10:00AM to 6:30PM

 

The S&R Operator is responsible for the pulling, packing and shipping of orders, requiring the preparation of shipping documents and proper labeling of hazardous materials. Work is performed under minimal supervision following established operating procedures. All work is reviewed for soundness, judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Establish knowledge of standard principles, concepts and techniques, works on a variety of shipping functions. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Data entry required to support shipping, receiving and manufacturing functions to include: printing labels, packing slips, entering appropriate information into SAP and Atrion.
  • Prepare appropriate documentation and make necessary carrier arrangements for shipment of goods (Fed-X, and all preferred carriers).
  • Communicate shipment transactions and track shipments to manufacturing supervisors, customers, Inplants and other sites.
  • Adhere to all company quality, environmental, departmental and safety policies and keep work area clean.
  • Ship materials (Totes, Drums, Raw Materials, and Supplies), generate packing slip and Bill of Landing, create bar code labels, and put material to stock locations as directed.
  • Pull orders for shipping utilizing FIFO method (rotating stock inventory by properly identifying and selecting the older batches first) in an efficient and timely fashion.
  • Follows established safety and work procedures/ instructions and follows 5S guidelines to ensure that department is meeting all 5S standards.
  • Correctly operate a fork lift in all applications of the department.
  • Read open orders and identify items to be pulled for shipping
  • Investigate shortages
  • Oversees and orders department supplies.
  • Notify supervisor and/or Inventory controller of any orders that are not filled or complete.
  • Process all HazMat paperwork for export shipments as required and all non-conforming return materials.
  • IATA trained and certified (international air transportation authority)
  • IMDG trained and certified (international maritime dangerous goods)
  • DOT/HazMat trained and certified (Dept. of transportation/Hazardous material transportation).
