FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Hours: Part-Time (flexible schedule with a minimum of 24 hours per week including weekends and holidays)

Wage: $16.50

This position is considered year-round, part-time.

Summary:

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Shift Supervisor of Campouts/Catering to assist with putting together campout snacks, preparing and serving campout dinners, preparing and serving campout breakfasts, preparing and serving preschool lunches (September through May), planning out monthly preschool menu, and assisting catering events when needed. This position will report to the Catering Assistant Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Counting out and packaging campout snacks.
• Preparing campout breakfasts.
• Preparing and serving campout dinners.
• Preparing and delivering preschool lunches (September through May).
• Assisting with catered events.
• Assisting with picnics.
• Taking inventory of product weekly and ordering appropriately.
• Accurately preparing and filling out paperwork and submit paperwork to Catering Assistant Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Assist Catering Assistant Manager and Supervisor in supervising all part-time/seasonal employees.

Job Requirements:

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 24 hours a week in the off season and up to 40 hours a week during the summer season.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays during the summer season.
• Must pass drug screening and background check.
• Ability to work well with guests that will reflect positively on the Zoo.
• Ability to work with employees with a wide range of ages and experience.
• Detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work odd hours, some early morning and some late nights.
• Ability to do simple math.
• Some food handling & preparation experience required.
• Able to communicate clearly.

Physical Requirements:

While preforming the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis.

Working Environment and Physical Effort:

Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Must wear close toe shoes. While in performance of job duties, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, signal and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch and/or crawl; talk and hear; frequently lift 25 pounds using safe and proper methods.
