The Services Platform Leader is a key role in the Systems Engineering Organization in Onshore Wind. This person will lead a team of engineers in designing/optimizing turbine systems and lead major NPI execution across the Engineering Organization, focused on programs that drive reliability and/or efficiency in the operating fleet.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead a global team of Systems Engineers and Program Managers in the development of Services solutions for the global Onshore Wind fleet
- Responsible for execution of design/turbine operation changes to bend the curve to mitigate failure rates in warranty fleet and leverage where possible into core fleet
- Utilize technologies like Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics to reduce time to troubleshoot and replacement part cycle times to enhance the operational fleet
- Identify and develop programs to drive down time to return units to service
- Partner with Program Management and Product Line to guide optimal design decisions for current products, new products, and commercial deals to achieve business objectives
- Lead major NPI investments from pre-conceptual design work through design, validation, and launch prioritizing and managing risks on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Partner with stakeholder in the development of the Multigeneration Engineering Plan for Services, focused on improving operations through reliability and cost
- Effectively manage program requirements and requirement flow down to optimize product offering and competitiveness
- Work with Systems Leaders to leverage lessons learned, best practices, process improvements and standard work
- Recruit, hire, coach and develop the team to execute all aspects of Systems Engineering and build a pipeline for leadership opportunities
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- Minimum of 7 years of experience, including strong demonstration of technical and leadership skills
Desired Characteristics
- Effective team building and leadership for a minimum of 2 years
- Excellent demonstration of systems thinking and applying strategic systems trade-offs into decision making
- Wind turbine experience in design, installation, operation, maintenance and services upgrades
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to interface effectively and influence all levels of the organization and external customers
The salary range for this position is $152,400 - $254,000 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation. This posting is expected to close on August 18th or thereafter.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
