The Opportunity
Portland Tractor is looking for a Service Manager to join our team in Washougal, WA. As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the Service department. This includes, timely completion of orders, continuous improvement, managing vendor relationships and people management. Β
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Service Manager your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the Service team to hit delivery dates
- Daily review of work in progress report with the Service Supervisor
- Daily review of open purchase orders with Purchaser
- Review on time completion report and determine corrective actions as necessary
- Manage team to rebuild components to stock
- Work with Sales Managers to determine what components need to be available as rebuilt or tested
- Manage vendors to rebuild stock
- Manage relationships with vendors
- Utilize outside vendors to assist in rebuilding components to stock
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in the Service department
- Work with the Sales team to prioritize dismantling
- Ensure safety standards are upheld
- Provide technical assistance and support
- Conduct regular performance reviews, and handle employee discipline as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- Degree, diploma or trade certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Operations Management, Engineering or related field
- 5+ years managing a Service Shop or related field
- Knowledge of CAT machinery an asset
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma an asset

The base pay range for this role is: $89,000 to $122,000 per year.
This is an onsite role based in Washougal, Washington.
