The Role
As a Senior Web Engineer in this role, you will be the driving force behind development of the website experience and engagement for visitors of Linktree. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned engineer with a proven track record of leveraging web technologies for user acquisition and engagement and experience with modern marketing. What You’ll Own
Website & Content Management System: Maintain, optimize, and evolve content management systems for a seamless user experience that goes beyond content delivery and encompasses the entire visitor journey on web and mobile.
Front End Engineering: Craft user-facing features in Linktree’s application that seamlessly blend design and functionality, delivering an engaging and intuitive user experience.
Growth of the Product: Take ownership of critical technical decisions, ensuring the front-end infrastructure is robust, scalable, and performant. Design full-stack systems, build pipelines for automation and use data analytics and experimentation to gain insights into visitor behavior and identify opportunities to improve engagement. Advocate for engineering quality and velocity, ensuring that technical decisions and implementations prioritize user satisfaction and retention.
Collaboration and Direction Setting: Be a great problem solver that enjoys collaborating with others. Working closely with marketing, product, and engineering teams to ensure that web content and brand design strategies are aligned. Contribute to the technical roadmap and long-term vision of the platform, identifying opportunities for innovation and optimization that enhance the visitor experience.
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or technical field, or equivalent experience.
6+ years of experience in software development.
Expertise with languages and web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Gatsby, Jamstack, Next.js (at least 3).
Experience with Content Management Systems and build systems: WordPress, Drupal, Contentful, etc.
Familiar with tech stack used at Linktree: React and React Native front ends written in NodeJS and Typescript. A legacy PHP monolith that uses Symfony, Doctrine and Twig templates. AWS Services: DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS, CDK, Glue, Firehose, EventBridge. Databases and pipelines: SQL, MySQL, Postgres, Snowflake.
Some knowledge of marketing techniques for the modern world including SEO, paid marketing, and CRM would be a plus.
Deep understanding of front-end architecture and data-driven development. Comfortable to design and build full stack solutions to drive a north star vision.
Linktree is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $140,000-$208,000 in the San Francisco Bay or Los Angeles area. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate expertise, the scope of role and level, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

We are a global and diverse group offering a truly flexible and family friendly work environment. Kids, pets, and the occasional delivery person are all actively encouraged to appear on our Zoom screens. All of us at Linktree work either fully remote or a hybrid approach.
We offer autonomy and flexibility in how you structure your days and weeks. There will be the need for some collaboration outside of a "normal" 9-5 being a global company, but we aim to work asynchronously where possible.
