About the role

Senior Thermal Engineer- Mixed Reality Team

 

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Thermal Engineer experienced in designing thermal solutions for Mixed Reality devices. 

 

The successful candidate will have the ability to create thermal architectures and designs supported by thermal simulation and experimentally validate the thermal solutions.  A mix of technical breadth and depth is desired to tie electronics, optics, and mechanical design into compelling consumer experiences. Experience in thermal design of consumer electronics products is required. A record of innovation and experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), thermal measurements, mechanical and materials engineering to achieve performance and cost targets is required

Responsibilities

  • Perform CFD simulation and calculations to accurately predict thermal behavior of electronic assemblies.  
  • Validate models and verify requirements are met at component, module and system level 
  • Lead Thermal design cross-functionally 
  • Influence mechanical integration and product design decisions by providing reliable data, analysis and thermal insights. 
  • Communicate status and results to cross-functional teams and management

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related technical engineering experience 
    • OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related technical engineering experience
    • OR Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience using software such as Flo Electronic Fluid Dynamics (FloEFD), to perform CFD simulation and calculations to accurately predict thermal behavior of electronic assemblies.  
  • 2+ years experiencing influencing mechanical integration and product design decisions by providing reliable data, analysis and thermal insights.
