Senior Technical Program Manager - Product Development

Alert Innovation, now powered by Walmart, is a fast-growing venture on a mission to reinvent retail through robotics. We’ve partnered with Walmart to develop our Alphabot® technology, which is currently being deployed at stores throughout North America.

We’re seeking a Program Manager to be a leader on our Product Development team. As Program Manager, you'll be integral to the creation and maintenance of complex schedules, planning milestones, and enabling the making of commitments to ensure successful customer-centric delivery of products. Responsibilities include aggregating schedules from other project managers across project teams, contractors, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and other organizations that are integral to our deployment process.

You should have demonstrated capabilities of organizing multiple workstreams to enable a team to focus on the right work, right now. You'll use your experience in using disciplined change management, project portfolio management, and risk management strategies in everyday practice.

We're also seeking experience in using a team-centric project management system, which is governed by a phase gate development framework. You enjoy bringing forward new ideas and concepts without being prompted and have the initiative and skills to adequately implement changes they see necessary. You have capability for coaching all levels of the organization, including in the adoption of the new methods and processes, and exhibit infectious leadership that inspires and creates excitement when working through challenges.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON: 

• Develop the cross-functional product development scope and create clear program plans with predictable outcomes and milestones that ensure products are ready for launch using Alert's phase gate process.
• Monitor and assess program performance with a focus on cost, quality, schedule and risk.
• As a team member, effectively communicate with leadership, peers, customers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Be energized by our challenges with the ability to effectively convince others of recommendations.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• B.S. degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience as a Project Manager in a matrix organization with hands-on experience in complex high-tech or electro-mechanical project management, including resource planning and budgeting.
• Experience managing the development process from concept to high volume production of electro-mechanical systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build effective team relationships and efficiently mediate teams to achieve consensus.
