Salary Range:
$133,000.00 - $173,000.00
What’s the role?
Etsy is looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to join the Cloud Strategy & FinOps team. The ideal candidate has a strong track record in technical program management, cloud strategy, cost optimization, vendor management, and financial management. They will work collaboratively across engineering, infrastructure, finance, and architecture teams and 3rd party vendors to achieve Etsy’s business and technical objectives; additionally they will collaborate with different seniority ranging from Engineering and None-Engineering ICs to CxOs.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director, Cloud Strategy & FinOps. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Etsy’s cloud and technology infrastructure is ever-evolving; this team is responsible for developing tools, frameworks, and practices to ensure a solid understanding of infrastructure usage, costs, and pain points.
We work with a full range of Compute, Networking, Storage, ML/AI, Managed Services, and Serverless offerings from Cloud providers as well as offerings from 3rd party tech vendors (e.g. o11y, CDNs, LLMs, GenAI, etc). We collaborate closely with internal partners to build technical and business use cases.
We lead engineering squads through complex decisions such as selecting the appropriate Cloud and SaaS products and weighing performance, features, cost, and other risk factors.
What does the day-to-day look like?
You will use your strong quantitative and qualitative skills and can use them to build cases supporting Build vs Buy decisions.
Distill critical information from complex technical and business problems and facilitate discussions with Etsy’s Eng leadership.
Partner with the Architecture team to ensure delivery teams are adhering to cloud standards
Vendor manages our Cloud and other technology providers, advocating for Etsy’s engineering and business priorities.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
10+ years of experience in the technology industry with project or program management, and proficiency in SDLC.
5+ years of experience managing cross-team budgets.
5+ years of experience in technology vendor management.
Understanding of GAAP, as well as effective cost management strategies common in the software industry.
