The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced diagnostics professional who is driven by deep customer insights and driving meaningful and differentiated solutions that bring value for Patients, Laboratorians, and Healthcare Systems. The Senior Technical Product Manager for Assays will be required to have deep product expertise with an ability to engage customers and stakeholders alike. This role requires strong collaborative skills given the need to partner across multiple business partners - Sales, Corporate Accounts, Medical & Scientific Affairs, Market Research, Commercial Education, Roche Support Network, Procurement, and other key stakeholders. This individual will partner with Global Marketing and Product Development teams to inform unmet US assay needs to help enable the US organization to drive top-line results and attain our Core Lab goals in the short and long term. Finally, this individual will manage a portion of the Clinical Chemistry portfolio to help drive strategic operational efficiencies for our lab customers. This position reports to the Group Marketing Manager, Core Lab Assays.
- Instills leadership through others by acting as a role model to drive impactful business solutions and positive change, encouraging, motivating and empowering others and helping others to succeed.
- Develops business area mastery to include understanding of market segments, analysis of key metrics that define success, share performance, trends, competition, customer critical success factors and needs through interaction with customers for integration into product development and product improvements.
- Serves as the technical expert across the entire Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay portfolios.
- Lead product lifecycle planning, coordination of technical product development, positioning and messaging as part of technical reviews of RFP/RFI/RFQ
- Support select key customer and internal engagements, including IHN visits, 360 events, City Events, new hire training, and global events and training
- Primary point-of-contact for 3rd-party partnerships based on strategic priorities
- Influences, manages, and supports the assigned product lines including but not limited to forecasting, pricing, and launch management implementation. Works with functional groups in the US and global lifecycle and operations.
- Directs, uses and translates market research and customer insight to shape product/portfolio strategies.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, or related business or scientific field.
- 5 years of business development, marketing or equivalent work experience (i.e. consulting)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, other Life Sciences or similar area of degree;PhD is strongly preferred.
- 5 years previous related Diagnostics experience in product management in the healthcare industry (e.g. US Hospital or Reference Lab market) or related business field
- Strong technical expertise, motivated by customer engagements
- Exceptional project management and cross-functional leadership skills; able to influence multiple stakeholders to ensure business needs are met and/or exceeded.
- Ability to independently drive multiple projects with competing priorities, strategically manage through complex opportunities, and independently make decisions and recommendations that represent and align to overall business and portfolio strategy. Embrace and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong technical and industry knowledge
- Proven ability to influence without authority, including strong stakeholder management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with various stakeholders - senior leadership, sales team, advocacy organizations, customers, etc.
- Ability to balance informed decision-making with a bias for action
