About the role

Are you already working in technical accounting and looking to deepen your expertise on complex, non-routine transactions? Do you enjoy applying U.S. GAAP to real business scenarios rather than following repeatable processes? Do you thrive in work that is varied, judgement-based, and far from formulaic?

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Accountant to join our Accounting Policy & Controls team. This is a high-impact role focused on applying U.S. GAAP to complex, non-routine transactions and helping shape how the organisation approaches accounting decisions. Rather than routine accounting work, this role is centred on research, judgement, and influence across the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Research and interpret U.S. GAAP, including areas such as revenue recognition and leases, to support complex accounting decisions

  • Analyse non-routine transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment

  • Draft and contribute to technical accounting memos and formal documentation

  • Partner with teams across finance, legal, tax, and the wider business to assess accounting implications of new initiatives

  • Act as a key contact during the external audit process, coordinating requests and supporting documentation

  • Support financial reporting, including disclosures and technical accounting positions

  • Help develop and maintain accounting policies, ensuring consistent application across the organisation

  • Identify control gaps and contribute to strengthening accounting processes and frameworks

What We’re Looking For

  • CPA qualification and a degree in Accounting

  • 5–7 years of experience, with at least 3 years in technical accounting, accounting policy, or financial reporting

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 606 and ASC 842

  • Proven experience applying accounting standards to complex or non-routine transactions

  • Demonstrated experience drafting or significantly contributing to technical accounting memos or formal documentation

  • Career progression from audit or operational accounting into technical accounting, policy, or advisory-focused work

  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to exercise sound professional judgement

  • Confident communicator who can translate technical guidance into clear, practical recommendations

  • Self-starter who is comfortable working in a highly autonomous, unstructured environment

PLEASE NOTE: This is a technical accounting role requiring hands-on experience applying U.S. GAAP to complex, non-routine transactions, rather than work focused on month-end close, journal entries, or audit delivery.

Why Join Us

  • Play a key role in shaping how accounting is applied across the organisation

  • Gain direct exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic business initiatives

  • Work in a collaborative, supportive team that values autonomy and trust
