The Opportunity

This position works out of our Tech Center in St. Paul, MN in the EP division.

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As the Senior Systems Engineer, you'll have the chance to have responsibilities related to test design, test data analysis, test execution, defect issue resolution, requirements analysis, debugging code, and configuring test systems.

What You’ll Work On

  • Work independently and as a team member to plan, write, and execute test cases according to Abbott practices, FDA regulatory, and ISO standard procedures.
  • Create/update data analysis, robotics, and test scripts including execution
  • Lead implementation, enhancements, and modifications to test automation framework, automation tools, scripts, and code.
  • Write, update, or execute test design cases, as well as procedures, and report results.
  • Perform dry runs and formal test activities as required.
  • Setup and configure test equipment.
  • Record and close defects found during test activities.
  • Participate in the requirements, hazard analysis, and design reviews for new features.
  • Design new test suites for new features and functionality.
  • Provide test perspective to R&D’s ongoing product development: requirements, product and test designs defect reviews, user workflows, and field complaint investigations.
  • Identify parameters, structure, and critical test components.
  • Contribute to development of solutions that have significant improvements of processes and test development.
  • Develop continuing proficiency in the field of systems test engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g. computer science, electrical, software) or related scientific discipline.
  • Five years of experience in engineering/scientific related field or three years of equivalent experience with a master’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FDA regulated industry experience
  • Master’s degree
