Role and Responsibilities
Samsung Electronics America (SEA) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer, RAN Virtualization & EMS OSS to operate in a lead technical role on our Wireless network team. You will operate as a subject matter expert in a multi-functional team of R&D, Systems engineering, and product validation to introduce Samsung products to Wireless Carrier. The position will be a key contributor for the 3GPP LTE and 5G RAN and Network Management products. The Sr. Engineer will be responsible for the System architecture and design with emphasis on Network Element OAM and OSS integration. The incumbent will provide technical guidance to the team to ensure deliverables are met.
Responsible for development of product requirements, feature requirements, systems and performance analysis, Work with the team to conduct deep-dive customer sessions, new technology introduction of 4G/5G RAN Network Management features and introduction of virtualized networks (VNF/CNF based solutions).
Analyze customer requirements, convert them into system requirements and capturing of detail design for the development team.
Responsible for Technical Management of new products and software releases to ensure that promised features are delivered with expected performance.
Provide technical support in the pre-sales process and create compelling technical and commercial solutions in order to help achieve the assigned sales goals and business objectives.

Translate and communicate complex technical design considerations between the Samsung sales team and carriers’ network business
Partner closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross- functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product roll-outs and developments.
Ability to travel sporadically during the project
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 8+ years of experience.
Experience with OAMP/FCAPS subsystem design and development in wireless networks.
Experience with TNM protocols and NMS/OSS interfaces.
Exposure to High Availability and redundancy systems.
Detailed understanding in managing Openstack/Kubernetes environments.
Must have experience with virtualized solutions in Wireless Networks. Virtualized RAN Application Management / OAM design and development is highly beneficial.
Must have experience in working with R&D teams, finalizing feature roadmaps and presenting in technical deep-dive sessions to customer.
Solid understanding of Netconf protocol, YANG models, REST APIs, and VES (Virtual Event Streaming)
Must have experience in working with Pre-Sales technical teams for the RFP responses.
Exposure towards public (AWS, Azure) and private / on-prime cloud installation and configuration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience in configuring virtual switches, network connections, Virtual port types (SR-IOV, virtio), Security Groups, VLANs is beneficial.
Experience or understanding in managing OpenStack / Kubernetes environment is highly beneficial.
Experience in authoring the SW upgrade procedures and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high severity issues in the commercial network is beneficial
Understanding of 3GPP systems: Core and RAN networks, architecture and protoc
