Raytheon’s Operations and Supply Chain organization has an opportunity for a talented professional to join our International team in a critical Senior Supplier Engineer role. You will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products supporting our international supply base. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production execution. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate, ensuring Export/Import compliance and License Management, and that the suppliers’ technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will initiate and manage EXIM RGEMS requests for technical transfers, license health checks, and EXIM Training compliance. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.

Supporting our international supply base requires Supplier Engineers to demonstrate significant flexibility and adaptability. They are expected to adapt to unexpected changes in demand and shifting priorities, adjusting their areas of responsibility accordingly. This position involves support of suppliers outside the United States.    

This position is a remote role, based in the U.S. and requires international travel (~25%.)

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Communicate and translate technical data package to suppliers according to Global Trade requirements.
  • Manage supplier requests for product and process changes, including management of product non-conformances and resulting root cause investigation and corrective action.
  • Lead and conduct engagements with suppliers and sub-tiers related to capability, capacity, cost, improvement opportunity, and risk.
  • Perform supplier technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis.
  • Provide manufacturing guidance to suppliers and develop mitigation plans.
  • Actively engage and communicate with internal RTX “EOSQP” (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Programs) and attend peer reviews, program reviews, health assessments, and change review boards.
  • International travel (~ 25% travel)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in at least one of the following: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical or process engineering, RF engineering, systems engineering, production/supplier management, and/or Program/Production management.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in Supplier Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Quality Engineering in an international setting
  • Active DoD clearance
  • Proven track record with performing supplier assessments, and record of driving cost savings, process improvements, and lean manufacturing with suppliers.
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading cross-functional teams, and experience influencing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of cultural differences and ability to work effectively in a global team.
  • Close proximity to a major/INTL airport
