Position Overview:

The Senior Statistical Programmer will lead efforts to modernize, build, and support the Statistical Sampling and Estimation System (SSES) in Python, providing programming expertise and statistical support. This role involves close collaboration with IT specialists and task teams to execute Task 6 deliverables, quality assurance, and infrastructure development. The ideal candidate brings deep technical experience with statistical software and excels in both coding and data interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build the SSES structure using Python.
• Lead quality control testing for revised SSES implementations.
• Develop infrastructure to support Task 6 components, including 6.1, 6.3, 6.4, and      6.5.
• Collaborate with IT Specialists to ensure technical alignment across all Task 6 activities.
• Write comprehensive documentation and manuals for the revised SSES system.
• Provide technical assistance (TA) on topics such as Excel formulas and advanced sampling methodology.
• Review and validate sample sizes; offer data-based recommendations for improvements.
• Apply statistical modeling techniques to support project objectives.
• Support additional analytical or programming needs within Task 6 as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience using analytical platforms including:
  • Python
  • SAS
  • Excel Macros
• Proven expertise in statistical modeling and data infrastructure development.
• Experience in reviewing sample sizes and providing recommendations based on statistical analysis.
• Effective public speaking and technical communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
• Capacity to analyze complex data and technical documents.
• Clear communication and information-sharing skills.
