Role: Senior Staff Midwife
Site: The Portland Hospital for Women & Children, Central London.
Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week between Monday-Sunday
Shifts: 12.5 hour shifts (Long days/nights/Weekends), 13 long days over the month
Salary: Band 6 competitive dependent on skills & Experience + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Midwife to join The Portland Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.
As the only fully private maternity hospital in the UK, delivering 1,500 babies a year, we place great importance on providing safe and high-quality care for expectant mothers. Both consultant-led and midwife-led maternity care is available, and our aim is to provide all the support you need during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. Women’s health issues are treated by a team of 40 consultants, supported by nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and counsellors, with an emphasis on privacy and dignity.
As the Staff Midwife, you will be responsible and accountable for the provision of high-quality care within the maternity setting. You will work within the midwifery team to provide antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care to all women during their inpatient stay and work alongside Obstetric Consultants colleagues to support Consultant Led Care within the maternity service.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Midwife with recent labour ward/birth suite experience to join a fantastic team.

What you'll bring:
NMC Registered Midwife
Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience within a UK hospital setting
Demonstratable experience within delivery suite/labour ward in last 6-12 months
Basic Adult and Newborn Life Support
Teaching and mentoring experience
Competent at cannulation
