Senior Staff AccountantAbout the role:
DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join the team. This position is a full-time office position. The Senior Staff Accountant will support the NALICO personal property division based in Dallas, Texas. The candidate will support the Insurance Accounting group and will be instrumental in helping to refine our system reporting and related reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and conformity with carrier requirements. They will also perform a wide variety of accounting tasks such as creating monthly carrier reporting, performing various reconciliations, monitoring aged receivables, and assisting in additional duties as required.
Location: Dallas, TX/In-office
Essential Functions:
Prepare and analyze financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and Trial Balances.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close Reporting.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable and payable related to insurance premiums and claims.
Calculate and track commissions earned by insurance agents and brokers based on sales performance and contractual agreements.
Reconcile commission payments with sales records and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Prepare for financial audit and coordinate the audit process.
Monitor and support taxation requirements.
Assisting the Corporate Finance team as needed
Job Requirements (education, experience, skills):
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles within the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles and regulatory requirements preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (experience with lookups and formulas a must)
Ability and willingness to learn new software / systems
Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
