Senior Software Engineering Manager, Teachers Pay Teachers

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 14 million students worldwide, is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) applications engineering teams in our New York City office. TPT is the most beloved educator brand used by 85% of K-12 teachers in the US and is the world’s largest catalog of educator-created content. 

This is a full time position with a hybrid schedule in our New York, NY office.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Manage and build a high-performance team of dynamic and talented engineers, engineering leads, and engineering managers to deliver TPT’s world-class buying and selling experience to educators
• Guide and mentor the engineering team to ensure a high level of work satisfaction, technical advancement, and progress towards individual career goals
• Make company initiatives, mission, goals, and values clear to each team member
• Work with the wider development team to surpass product usability and quality standards from design to code review to release

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 7+ years direct experience in software engineering
• 5+ years management experience
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline 
• Solid full-stack software development experience working on web applications
• Passion for coaching and developing people
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Passion for improving education through technology

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 to $250,000 + equity + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
