Senior Software Engineer

<p><strong>Location Qualifications</strong>: Ghent (hybrid, 2 days in the office)</p> <p><strong>About the position</strong></p> <p>As a Senior Backend Engineer in one of the <strong>AI focused teams</strong>, you will help shape the future of intelligent, AI-powered features that enhance how sales teams work. You'll build and maintain serverless event-driven systems and APIs that integrate with third-party services. You'll be responsible for driving technical and product decisions based on your expertise, designing solutions that leverage modern AI capabilities to deliver real value to users. Rather than a monolithic environment, you will help develop an ecosystem of services, as you identify and isolate parts of the system to increase reliability and promote quality. Your decisions will not only have an impact on the way we build our product but also on the end-user experience for all our customers.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop AI-powered features that leverage large language models to automate and enhance user workflows.</li> <li>Contribute to improving our development processes and environments.</li> <li>Build and maintain integrations with third-party platforms and APIs.</li> <li>Help define, implement, and maintain our growing ecosystem of microservices.</li> <li>Work in software teams where code reviews and pair programming are part of our strong engineering culture.</li> <li>Take a security-first approach to implementing features and changes.</li> <li>Collaborate with and mentor less experienced engineers on best practices and architectures.</li> <li>Have a strong eye on the bigger picture because everything you do will have an impact on 100,000 users globally.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For Nice to Have&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years developing scalable, production-ready backend systems.</li> <li>Experience with search and retrieval systems, vector search, semantic search</li> <li>Experience with backend systems for AI/ML-powered products is a plus.</li> <li>Strong proficiency in TypeScript and <a href="http://node.js">Node.js</a>. Experience with JVM languages is a plus.</li> <li>Interest in or experience with AI/LLM integration and prompt engineering.</li> <li>Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven systems (message queues, state machines, asynchronous workflows).</li> <li>Experience working in a cloud environment.
