TITLE: Senior Software Engineer

Location: 1130 Sanctuary Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30009; Telecommuting permissible from any location in the U.S.

Salary Range: $122,450.00 /yr - $146,960.08 /yr

            

Job Description: Design, implement, and integrate software for monitoring and alerting systems. Innovate solutions to challenging business use cases, existing system, and operational problems. Produce architectural designs, system analysis, and programming activities on application software. Develop using best-practice data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and frameworks that are maintainable, scalable, responsive, and secure. Implement quality code with attention to scalability, security, and performance and with an end-to-end mindset from conception to delivery and production support, owning specifications, quality, release deployments, and monitoring of production health. Produce complete, simple, and readable technical documentation for everything developed and maintain a team culture of documenting everything. Test and ensure quality of all code that is developed in line with principles of test-driven development and continuous delivery, utilizing test automation frameworks wherever possible. Participate in code-reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor software engineers. Collaborate with engineering leadership, Product Managers, Designers, Test Automation, and other teams and business units to define, prioritize, sequence, and scope business and functional requirements and drive results. Provide instrument infrastructure and application performance monitoring, capacity management, alerting, tools instrumentation and metrics (KPI) management. Maintain knowledge and ensure competency and compliance with policies and procedures, to be the technical expert while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Telecommuting permissible from any location in the U.S.

 

  1. Working with UNIX, Linux, Windows, and Microservices;
  2. Working with languages and frameworks, including the following: .NET, Java, Node.js, Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes;
  3. CI/CD tools, including the following: Jenkins, Bitbucket, GIT, Source Tree, and Rundeck;
  4. Monitoring tools, including the following: AppDynamics, Apica, Splunk, Datadog, Big Panda, Nagios, and Grafana;
  5. Azure monitoring tools, including the following: Azure Monitor, AppInsights, and Log Analytics;
  6. Integrating monitoring tools for monitoring service calls, creating queries, dashboards, and APIs;
  7. Configuration and Deployment tool, including the following: Ansible, Chef, and Puppet;
  8. JSON, YAML, and XML file structures; and
  9. Query languages, including the following: SQL, KQL.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related role.


Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $122,450.00-$146,960.08
