Senior Software Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Financial Advice and Planning Technology team to modernize our applications, specifically Investment Goals and Financial Life Sync. In this role, you will:

• Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

• Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

• Monitor and troubleshoot systems using tools like Splunk and AppDynamics

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive DevOps and development activities

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

• 4+ years of experience in Java, Python, or similar languages

• 4+ years of experience with REST APIs and Spring Boot development

• 4+ years of experience with CI/CD tools and test automation

• 4+ years of experience designing and scaling infrastructure in high-traffic environments

• 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as OpenShift

• 2+ years of experience with database technologies like MongoDB or Oracle database

• 2+ years of experience with Kafka and batch job processing ​

Desired Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with monitoring tools like Splunk and AppDynamics

• 2+ years of experience in creating automated integration test cases using Playwright, Cucumber, Selenium, Apache Karate, Web Driver etc.

• 1+ years of experience working in an Agile principles and Scrum environment

• 2+ years of experience with SDLC tools (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Harness).

• 2+ years of experience triaging complex technical support issues, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning

• Knowledge or desire to learn GenAI tools like GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity
