About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Financial Advice and Planning Technology team to work on modernizing our products and applications. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering essential business applications and services. You'll be focused on building and enhancing our advice and planning platforms using modern technologies. In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients’ needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

  • Contribute to the design and development maintenance of applications

  • Learn new technologies and architectural patterns and sharing that knowledge

  • Have a collaborative approach to development and a strong sense of team success

  • Drive the requirements process with both technical and business partners

  • Collaborate in a flexible and agile way to adjust plans quickly to meet changing product delivery needs


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

  • 4+ years of experience with Java, .NET and related development tools (such as Spring Boot and Gradle).

  • 4+ years of experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Enterprise.

  • 4+ years of experience developing Microservices and APIs.

  • 4+ years of experience working with MongoDB and Oracle Database.

  • 1+ year of experience with AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Financial Services industry terminology and procedures to allow close collaboration with business partners and financial advisors.

  • Familiarity with financial services industry terms and processes.

  • Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman and Swagger UI.

  • Experience developing automated tests.

  • Experience with SDLC tools (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Harness).

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

  • Technical problem-solving skills, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.

  • A passion for learning new technologies quickly.
