What’s the role?

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to build out and support integrations, system configurations, and workflow automations within our enterprise  environment. This is a team that enables staff throughout Etsy with tool onboarding, governance, standard processes, and technical guidance for managing their own SaaS tools.

As the Senior Enterprise Tooling Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating enterprise applications, working with partners across the company to implement workflow automations, enabling reporting and tool insights, and ensuring a stable and well-configured platform for our end users. You will build processes and documentation for configuring and managing SaaS systems that are consistent with security and compliance requirements.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Engineering Manager, Enterprise Tooling and the base salary range will be 152,000-178,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What does the day-to-day look like?

• Ensure the stability and security of the enterprise environment for Etsy and our subsidiary companies.
• Deliver expert architecture, engineering, and project support for key initiatives.
• Integrate SaaS applications to enable SSO, SCIM, and process workflow automations.
• Provide tier 2/SME support, system monitoring, and incident response for Enterprise Tools owned systems, with a heavy focus initially on Okta support as we continue to grow other team members in this area.
• Develop automated reporting for aggregate system metrics and trends, and provide our collaborators with relevant insights from this data.
• Maintain a broad and deep technical understanding of our product offerings and the underlying technologies.

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• Experience in a software or systems engineering role.
• A strong background in developing, testing, integrating, and maintaining integrations and Workflows.
• Success configuring, administering, and supporting an enterprise environment, ideally within a multi-tenant environment.
• Knowledge and hands on experience implementing applications with strong authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML).
• Exposure to efficient DevOps processes and understanding of software engineering principles and practices.
• Self motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently!
• Have a continuous improvement approach and are capable of balancing multiple priorities concurrently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, can interact with technical and non-technical, global, multi-functional teams, and have a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves and get the work done approach.
