About the role

Position Description:

Implements Java Application Program Interfaces (API) solutions utilizing SaaS products and Data solutions. Deploys webservices on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Develops REST based web services and applications using frameworks and technologies, including Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, APIGEE and Stratum. Develops responsive software applications using Angular 12+. Containerizes applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Performs coding and automation of application pipelines with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools using Jenkins and GIT. Develops observability dashboards, and alerts using Data Dog.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and in multiple platforms.

Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

Assists in the planning and conducting of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.

Responsible for post-installation testing.

Establishes project plans for mid-sized projects.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building and maintaining Enterprise Web Services using Java, Spring Framework, Docker, CI/CD, and AWS in a distributed systems environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building and maintaining Enterprise Web Services using Java, Spring Framework, Docker, CI/CD, and AWS in a distributed systems environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Docker.

DE designing and developing Microservices for real-time data streaming using Kafka and ensuring seamless synchronization across multiple applications.

DE developing and maintaining enterprise-standard infrastructure across multiple environments, including on-prem Linux VMs and AWS cloud infrastructure; and performing containerization using Docker and deployment using Kubernetes.
