Senior Software Engineer/Developer

Job Description:

Position Description: 

Builds automation pipelines by leveraging DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools including Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, Stash and Docker. Builds and deploys REST Application Program Interfaces (APIs) using Java and Spring Boot. Supports API and HTTP networks by employing different database drivers such as Graph QL. Develops tools and solutions that will enable the team to create and maintain platforms faster and with great accuracy using DevOps Toolkits -- Kubernetes, Rushhour, DataDog, Jenkins and Splunk. Develops software processes in cloud providers including AWS, EC2, and Lambda. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  

• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  

• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  

• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 

• Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 

• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  

• Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 

• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 

• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing software applications.  

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing software applications. 

Skills and Knowledge: 

Candidate must also possess: 

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing software applications using Java, leveraging cloud services from Amazon Web Services -- Amazon S3, EC2, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, or Lambda, using testing framework like JUnit, using mocking libraries Mockito for unit testing, conducting version control using Git, and performing containerization using Docker. 

• DE developing UI features for software applications using Typescript, HTML, CSS or Angular; and using Java to analyze and resolve application issues, make REST backend API calls, and develop and enhance logging capabilities. 

• DE performing application modernization and migration to Azure Cloud Platform using SQL and Stored Procedure; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver effect
