Senior Software Engineer - CTJ - TS/SCI

We are seeking a mission-focused Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft enterprise technologies and a passionate emphasis on automation and secure infrastructure. This role supports our Department of Defense (DoD) customers and other highly regulated clients, requiring a high level of technical proficiency and a deep understanding of compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program), JSIG (Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide), and DoD cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage secure Microsoft services in cloud and hybrid environments, including Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business (experience in at least two is required).
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and compliance enforcement using PowerShell scripts and Bicep templates.
• Ensure systems align with federal security frameworks including DoD STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides), FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program), and JSIG (Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide).
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement secure configurations, patching strategies, and continuous monitoring.
• Support incident response, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness, including participation in on-call rotations. ​​
• Maintain detailed documentation for accreditation and compliance reporting.
• Mentor junior engineers in secure systems design, automation, and federal compliance best practices.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 1+ years familiarity with Microsoft Azure, especially Azure Government and other secure sovereign cloud environments.
• 4+ years experience with Windows Server administration and security hardening.
• 4+ years demonstrated proficiency with at least two of the following Microsoft technologies in an on-premises or hybrid setting: Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, or Skype for Business

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:   

• The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.  Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
• Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.   
• Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance
