Job Summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Scientist, QC Program Lead for the Quality Control organization at the Cell Therapy Facility (CTF) in Devens, MA. The QC Program Lead will own the QC Training Program, building and enhancing the QC training infrastructure while providing strategic direction to anticipate mid- and long-term department training needs. This role will develop, monitor, and report training KPIs and effectiveness to ensure Right-First-Time lab operations, while driving training process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity. The QC Program Lead is responsible for performing as a subject matter expert on laboratory training and adult learning, interfacing with multiple groups while working independently to deliver exceptional results. This role is stationed in Devens, MA and reports to the Senior Director, Cell Therapy QC Operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert on QC training program and adult learning. Represent QC in cross-functional training forums, planning meetings, and project teams.

  • Coordinate site activities to drive and execute network alignment initiatives for training effectiveness and efficiencies.

  • Create and review training material, documentation, and procedures.

  • Author and review/ revise technical documents such as test methods, training SOPs, and/or trend reports as appropriate.

  • Develop, monitor, and report training KPIs and effectiveness to ensure Right-First-Time lab operations.

  • Anticipate mid- and long-term department training needs and perform complex troubleshooting and problem solving independently.

  • Own QC Training Program, project, CAPA and deviation/investigation related tasks and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Represent the department in regulatory inspections (internal and external audits).

  • Train and mentor others on multiple QC test methods, processes, and procedures (e.g., Training Program, New Hire Onboarding, LIMS).

  • Propose and implement improvements to training process to increase efficiency and productivity.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in Science.  Advanced degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of relevant analytical testing or QC experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a regulated environment.

  • Ability to accurately and completely understand, follow, interpret and apply Global Regulatory and cGMP requirements.

  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.

  • Advanced skills in organizing, planning, priority setting and time management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, department management and cross-functional peers about task status, roadblocks and needs.

  • Advanced ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work from multiple projects.

  • Advanced problem-solving ability/mentality, technically adept and logical.

  • Strong mentoring, coaching, influencing, negotiating and personnel interaction skills.
