Position Summary:
Ring is seeking a Senior Scientist in Analytical Development (AD) to join our Technical Operations team and lead immunoassay development for our novel anellovirus platforms. The candidate will develop methods to enable research and process development teams and collaborate with colleagues in AD. The candidate will interface with external technology companies, research institutes/universities, and contract manufacturing organizations as required to accelerate method development efforts. We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who has experience in developing and qualifying immunoassays on a range of analytical platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead immunoassay development activities to support platform and process development to characterize viruses, proteins, viral vectors
- Responsible for devising and implementing strategies to detect and quantify viral proteins and particles
- Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in developing analytical methods for product release testing and product characterization
- Lead strategy and initiatives for analytical team, support in-process assays for process and formulation development
- Maintain scientific and technical expertise through familiarity with scientific literature, attending conferences, and developing relationships with thought leaders
- Author and review assay development, qualification and validation reports, relevant sections of documents pertaining to analytical method development and documentation for submission to regulatory agencies
- Work closely with an entrepreneurial, highly-collaborative, interdisciplinary team and actively contribute to creating, shaping and executing the scientific vision of the company
Qualifications:
- PhD + 5 years Industry experience in, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Virology or related field, viral work experience preferred
- Proven track record of developing quantitative methods for protein measurement on a variety of technological platforms
- Deep experience in method development and validation of immunoassays, including antibody development and screening, ELISA, western blot, immunostaining, Octet
- Experience in analytical assay development, qualification and validation requirements to comply with current regulatory standards
- Familiarity with gene therapy development a plus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability in working with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
