Description of Work
A successful candidate for this Senior Regional Maintenance Technician (Maintenance/Construction Technician IV) position will work in the Raleigh Satellite Maintenance Yard (RSMY) preventative maintenance team performing preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance work orders at responsible institutions (OSDT Apex, Randall Building, 840 W Morgan Street Building, and Wake CC) and assisting Institutional Maintenance at supporting institutions (Central Prison, NCCIW, Granville CI, and Harnett CI). This position shall have journeyman level experience within 2 or more engineering construction trades (general, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and electronics) but with a specific focus in the electrical trade.The Senior Regional Maintenance Technician will also assist other teams within the Raleigh Satellite Maintenance Yard (RSMY) when needed, to include but not limited to, the Metal Fabrication Team, Special Projects Team, and Electronics Systems Team. This position may also be tasked with assisting other Regional Maintenance Yards or working with the DECM Construction team on larger construction projects when required.
Key Duties Includes:
•Demonstrated experience in two or more journeyman level construction trade skills within concrete, masonry, carpentry, site work, painting, finishes, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and/or equipment operation; with a specific focus in the electrical and/or electronics trades.
•Demonstrated experience in the installation of primary and secondary electrical conduit and circuitry for electrical distribution systems.
•Demonstrated experience with standard testing equipment to diagnose electrical components.
•Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and/or National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
•Experience with the tools, methods, practices, materials, and equipment used within the general construction trades relating to the maintenance of buildings.
•Experience with reading schematics and blueprints.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Grade Range: $45,431.00-$79,504.00
