The Role: Telgorithm is looking to hire a Senior QA Lead who will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test strategies to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our API endpoints. In this role, you will own and scale our QA function. This role reports directly to the CTO and will lead a small QA team (currently you + 1 QA), combining strategy and hands-on testing.
Compensation Range: $4,000-$7,000 USD Monthly depending on location and experience
Location and Language: This is a remote position for which we are accepting applicants in Europe and nearby time zones with preference for candidates in: the European Union and Eastern Europe (excluding Germany, Russia, Belarus, and the UK). All candidates must be able to provide proof of identity and work authorization to work as a contractor in their country of residence. Telgorithm is based in the United States and English is the primary language used at work. Proficiency with Russian is a must have because we have a Russian-speaking development team.
What you’ll do
- Own and drive the entire QA strategy and processes, reporting directly to the CTO.
- Plan and maintain test coverage across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing. Decide what should be automated vs. manual.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated tests (C# + Playwright, UI + API) and integrate them into CI/CD using GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering (developers, analysts, and DevOps) to define acceptance criteria, analyze requirements, and proactively identify risks.
- Lead and mentor a small QA team, improving processes, workflows, documentation, and quality metrics while remaining hands-on ~50% of the time.
What you’ll bring
- 6+ years of QA experience, including 2+ years in a Senior, Lead, or Acting Head of QA role.
- Strong hands-on experience in test automation (UI & API).
- Deep understanding of web applications, client–server architecture, and REST APIs.
- Ability to work with PostgreSQL for test data and analysis.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions, including setting up test pipelines and quality gates.
- Experience building QA processes, test strategies, and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills; experience working on distributed/remote teams.
- Professional proficiency in English and Russian (both languages are required for this role. The main working language on our development team is Russian, while the main working language for our team at large is English.)
Bonus if you also have:
- Experience with C# and Playwright (or similar tools with willingness to transition).
- Experience with non-functional testing (performance, load, security, reliability).
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools and using production insights to refine QA strategies.
- Experience with high-volume APIs or telecom/messaging platforms.
