Senior QA Engineer - SAAS and Cloud Infrastructure

Deep Origin is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer with an adept background in both manual and automated testing of SaaS and cloud infrastructure products. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to craft comprehensive test cases, oversee their execution, and spearhead both the creation and implementation of testing procedures. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and reliability of our applications and platforms, ensuring they adhere to the highest quality standards through meticulous testing and analysis.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and construction of detailed test cases and test plans for both manual and automated testing strategies, tailored to our SaaS and cloud infrastructure offerings.
• Design, develop, and execute automated tests using various tools and frameworks, ensuring broad coverage and efficient testing cycles.
• Conduct hands-on manual testing when automation is not applicable, ensuring thorough coverage and meticulous documentation of test outcomes.
• Establish and manage a robust testing framework to enable effective continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Analyze specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback regarding test case creation.
• Develop and sustain clear and thorough test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test results reports.
• Maintain the integrity of testing environments, tools, and infrastructure required to support QA processes.
• Detect, log, and efficiently manage software defects and inconsistencies, actively contributing to their resolution.
• Coordinate with the development team to comprehend the implications of changes to product design on existing test cases and QA environments.
• Communicate QA progress, outcomes, and challenges effectively throughout the project lifecycle, summarizing QA achievements upon project completion.
• Remain abreast of the latest developments in testing methodologies, tools, and best practices, advocating for and implementing improvements within the team.
• Ensure current QA documentation practices are followed and kept up to date with product evolution.
• Provide mentorship to junior QA engineers, offering insight and support where necessary.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA engineering, specifically with SaaS and cloud infrastructure products.
• Ability to design and execute test cases based on requirements.
• Proficient in the formulation of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Demonstrable experience in creating, maintaining, and executing automated test cases using tools such as Selenium, Jenkins, JMeter, Postman, Rainforest, etc.
• Strong programming and scripting skills for writing and maintaining test scripts.
• Proficient in both white box and black box testing techniques.
• Practical experience with testing Linux, web apps, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases for back-end testing purposes.
• Knowledge of Agile frameworks, regression testing, and test case management tools.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization and orchestration tools.
• Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
