Our Avionics Test Engineering (ATE) organization plays a critical role in supporting the $5B Avionics strategic business unit and delivering world-class test solutions to our external customers, including armed services and airlines, both domestic and international.
We have an opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our ATE team. In this dynamic role, you will lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers (systems, mechanical, electrical, and software) in the development of complex test solutions. You will oversee projects from inception through deployment and provide long-term support to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and technical excellence.
You should possess an unwavering positive attitude and be highly responsive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Your ability to perform high-quality work proactively and efficiently is essential. Additionally, you should consistently demonstrate professionalism and effective collaboration with all levels of the organization. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Own Technical Project Execution: Lead technical project execution and maintain performance metrics to enable data-driven decision-making in an Agile project management environment.
Agile Tools and Metrics: Utilize Agile tools to manage projects, generate metrics for presentations, and forecast future performance.
Scope Management: Manage project scope, including requirements and change requests, ensuring alignment with agreed-upon commitments.
Project Scheduling: Generate and maintain project schedules, clearly defining dependencies, deliveries, and critical paths.
Earned Value Management: Apply Earned Value (EV) methods to manage project budgets and schedules effectively.
Quality Assurance: Ensure projects exceed quality expectations through rigorous adherence to standards and continuous improvement practices.
Risk and Opportunity Management: Identify and proactively manage risks and opportunities to resolve them effectively.
Status Reporting: Prepare and deliver well-crafted presentations to report project status to leadership teams.
Proposal Development: Develop engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects, securing organizational buy-in.
