Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Integration Office (PIO) Manager (Level L) to join the Boeing Adaptable Ring (BAR) Program Management team in El Segundo, CA!

The BAR PIO provides senior technical leadership and systems engineering support to the Program Management Office (PMO). The role focuses on ensuring technical integrity, coordinating across engineering disciplines, supporting program reviews and risk management, and advising stakeholders on propulsive ring design, requirements, verification, integration, and delivery readiness.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Technical advisory to PMO: Serve as a senior technical point of contact to support program execution, scope, technical planning, and decision-making.
  • Requirements & verification support: Assist with interpretation and flow-down of system/subsystem requirements, including traceability to verification and acceptance criteria.
  • Systems engineering coordination: Support configuration management of technical baselines and interfaces; ensure engineering artifacts remain consistent across teams.
  • Technical risk & issue management: Identify, assess, and help drive resolution of technical risks, anomalies, and open issues; support mitigation planning and status reporting.
  • Propulsive ring technical oversight: Provide guidance on design maturity, performance margins, integration readiness, and verification progress for the propulsive ring subsystem and related interfaces.
  • Integration & interface management: Coordinate cross-discipline interface concerns (mechanical, propulsion, controls, thermal, structures, avionics/embedded control, software, etc., as applicable).
  • Model-based engineering support: Support the use and review of system models, simulations, test correlations, and technical data packages where applicable.
  • Review participation: Prepare and participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, readiness reviews, test readiness reviews, and problem review boards.
  • Technical documentation & status reporting: Support development of technical status briefs, engineering plans, technical reports, and summaries for PMO leadership.
  • Technical staffing and execution planning: Assist with planning engineering resources and deliverables, ensuring milestones are feasible and supported by technical evidence.
  • Stakeholder coordination: Interface with engineering leads, test organizations, manufacturing/production partners, and external stakeholders to enable timely decisions.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in El Segundo, CA.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 10+ years of experience developing cross functional processes, creating and managing engineering deliverables (i.e. Engineering / Manufacturing, Engineering / Supply Chain, Engineering / Program Management, Engineering / Quality, etc.)
  • Experience in requirements development, verification, validation, risk, issues and opportunities management
  • Experience presenting technical information to program management in Formal Reviews
  • Experience managing requirements with DOORS
  • Experience working with Small Satellite Programs and Space System Resiliency with current understanding of Boeing’s products and how they address the customer organization’s mission needs

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience coordinating fielding/integration readiness with multiple stakeholders (sat integrator, launch provider, deployer/adapter provider).
  • Familiarity with flight/test operations, test planning, instrumentation, data reduction, and test correlation.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and processes (e.g., AS9100, NASA/DoD engineering practices, or internal equivalents).
