About Lanai

However, getting to this future will be messy and confusing! Lanai, a contraction of "Lean Into AI”, aims to help. Lanai will offer a software platform that helps companies adopt AI-based models and applications in a productive, cost-effective, and secure manner. Lanai was founded in early 2023 by Steve Herrod (former CTO of VMware) and the talented team at Juxtapose. Lanai has received substantive funding from top-tier VC firms and will release its first product later this year.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the product roadmap in collaboration with the Lanai engineering and design teams, identifying high impact opportunities for the business

• Work effectively in partnership with engineers, design and leadership to define, implement and iterate on new and existing products 

• Develop a deep understanding of our current product and inform new product opportunities based on customer research, the changing landscape of AI and your product intuition

• Work directly with the design team in Figma to create low-fidelity visualizations of product ideas 

• Manage our anchor customer pilot program, including overseeing implementation, monitoring usage data, providing support for issues and collecting feedback that shapes the product roadmap

• Identify and recommend success metrics and/or key results that enable meaningful ways to measure progress

• Understand reliability and performance, and proactively find and address issues to manage data at scale 

• Communicate user problems, business opportunities, team roadmaps, on-going updates, and project/OKR results clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences (e.g., executive stakeholders, engineering team, founding team, people with and without technical expertise)

What You Bring 

• 5+ years of experience as a seasoned product manager with a track record of defining and delivering impactful products within the AI, data, and/or security space, 

• At least one year working in a 0-to-1 environment, preferably at a seed, Series A, or Series B company

• Proven track record as a strong communicator, influencer, and cross-functional partner

• Strong product intuition based on experience, but reinforced with a deep understanding of user feedback and analytical data

• A self starter owner’s mentality with an unquenchable desire to learn

• Sharp at problem solving, critical thinking, and systems thinking

• Proactive communicator, both verbal and written, around technical decisions and project deadlines

• Biased towards action and speed of delivery

Working Environment

Lanai is based in the SF Bay Area and we have an intentionally flexible hybrid approach to work. We have a regular in-office cadence for team connection and brainstorming sessions, with the flexibility for remote work the rest of the time. We use the best collaboration tools, schedule regular offsites, and plan for team bonding experiences.
