About the Team: Service Monetization Product Management - Purchase Experience

The Product Team is a cornerstone of the culture and the app experience that millions of customers enjoy daily. Our mission is to provide an innovative amine streaming experience to our millions of subscribers and fans. We appreciate the value of understanding our users and anticipating their needs.

We are looking for a Product Manager with a solid understanding of engineering concepts who can balance that with a passion for understanding people. This role, dedicated to our Service Monetization team will help guide product decisions, on short and long-term strategy, and will bring strategic focus and discernment to the team. You are passionate about helping our fans discover our membership service, make buying decisions, and convert those buying decisions to paid subscriptions. You will gather and analyze business requirements, with an eye towards media & entertainment industry trends, and translate that knowledge into solutions that deliver an easy and delightful purchase experience. The ideal candidate has some technical background and has previous experience in ecommerce, checkout, payments, international transactions, and subscription billing platforms.

A Day in the Life of a Crunchyroll Product Manager:

  • This role is inherently cross-functional; you will work closely with engineering, project management, content operations, finance, legal, business development, content acquisition, and executive teams to bring products to market, develop and grow business opportunities & partnerships.
  • You will be taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results for Crunchyroll’s technology platform.
  • As a low ego product management leader, you value the importance of developing strong and positive relationships with colleagues, and other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement product strategies consistent with key organizational goals and outcomes driving the Checkout and International Payment Expansion roadmaps.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify business problems, and construct high-level product epics, features and user stories features.
  • Conduct regular ideation and specification sessions to ensure alignment of key constituents across departments, business lines, and partner organizations.
  • Author detailed product briefs explaining the why and the what for a given initiative.
  • Deliver streamlined product requirements - that are easily understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Write stories and acceptance criteria that bring your product strategy to life, collaborating with: Engineering, Program, Licensing, Acquisitions, Legal, Finance, and Analytics.
  • Act as the main point of contact for product questions, issues, and feedback.
  • Groom platform product backlog as needed in addressing delivery impediments or product quality issues.
  • Directly address partner concerns to quickly resolve satisfaction issues.
  • Define hypotheses for new features and set clearly defined goals and metrics.
  • Participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints
  • Actively groom the product backlog in partnership with the delivery teams
  • Serve as the cornerstone for product management roadmaps
  • Collaborate with product managers, program managers, engineers, designers and other horizontal business partners during all stages of product creation including design and development
  • Partner with collaborators and customers across the organization to inform features, and prioritization

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: You have 5+ years of a demonstrated ability in shipping products and features for a consumer technology company. Specific experience with ecommerce, checkout, strategic growth in subscription and/or streaming service products desired
