Base salary range is $145,000-$155,000

As a Senior Postgres/MySQL Database Administrator in Transcarent’s cloud tooling team, you will become subject matter expert for various AWS cloud data storage services administration, build the framework to define the infrastructure as code, contribute to building the internal cloud platform to enable other engineers to create and deploy their applications and services quickly and efficiently. 

A day in the Life… 

• Database Administration: Manage the shared MySQL and Postgres database clusters such as keeping the database engine up to date, monitoring the performance of databases and optimize them where possible. Work with development teams to troubleshoot database issues and provide support and fix. 

• Design, develop and operate cloud infrastructure: Build, and maintain shared AWS-based infrastructure powering company applications and services running on ECS, EKS, and Lambda platforms. 

• Automate and enable self-service: Develop infrastructure as code automation platform using TypeScript and Python to automate AWS resource provisioning, enabling other teams to work independently and efficiently with AWS infrastructure. 

• Mentor and consult: Provide tooling, guidance, and consultation to engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers to meet company standards and grow their technical expertise. Work with teams across America and Europe in different time zones. 

• Production data support: Be able to provide efficient support for engineer teams which do not have production sensitive data access.  

• Ensure reliability and support: Develop cloud application resiliency enabling solutions, participate in on-call rotations for AWS infrastructure issues, and serve as a subject matter expert for specific AWS domains. 

• Embrace collaboration: Actively contribute as part of a globally distributed team using agile principles for self-organization and continuous improvement. 

What we are looking for... 

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Software Engineering and Cloud Platform development roles. This includes 4+ years of DBA experience, preferably in cloud environment data storage solution. You should have experience with distributed and cloud-based architecture patterns and best practices. Experience with implementation of internal delivery platforms is a plus.
