As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for managing the payroll process, including preparation, processing, and reconciliation of the Company’s global/multi-state payroll.  You focus heavily on attention to detail, and ensuring accuracy is your number one priority. The Impact You Will Have:

Our payroll team has an immediate impact on every employee across QTS. Working within a global People Services Operations team, you will have an opportunity to ensure our most important piece of QTS, our people, can depend on an efficient and accurate payroll process each pay period. Working closely with our Payroll leadership, your expertise and prior experience processing payroll in a mid-sized organization will be essential to success of the overall team.  
 

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and run a complete and final payroll process for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Review timesheets and other payroll input data to detect and resolve payroll discrepancies; asking questions and following up on discrepencies to ensure payroll is run on time and with minimal errors.
  • Own the employee verification processing support function; Maintain and update employee payroll records with confidentiality and precision.
  • Respond to employee paycheck questions and issues in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are properly documented and saved for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Responsible for conducting reoccurring review audits, reconciliations and payroll analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and stay up to date with changes in US payroll regulations, tax laws, and other audit requirements.
  • Provides oversight of strategic initiatives or projects, including payroll system enhancements, process automation efforts, or continuous improvement initiatives that impact payroll operations across the organization.
  • Stay updated on changes to federal, state, and local payroll regulations through payroll seminars and online training and ensure organizational compliance, surfacing changes to team leadership.
  • Lead such processes as year-end payroll, including W-2 and other tax statement preparation.
  • Responsible for leading strategic initiatives or projects in area of responsibility, including payroll system enhancements, processing automation efforts, or continuous improvement initiatives that impact payroll operations across the organization
  • Provides advisory and consultative responsibilities, such as serving as the payroll subject matter expert who interprets payroll regulations, partners with HR, Finance, and Legal to address complex issues, and provides guidance on policy or regulatory changes impacting payroll operations.

What You Will Need to be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Four or more years of experience in payroll administration or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of payroll practices, labor laws, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
     

Other Key Skills

  • Experience working with Workday is preferred.
